AMD
menurunkan 6 procesor baru, uniknya bukan tipe 2 core saja tetapi 3
core dan 4 core. AMD sebelumnya mengembangkan pasaran procesor 3 core
atau lebih dengan membawa nama Phenom.
Sedangkan 6 procesor terbaru dibawah ini merupakan procesor di seri Athlon II.

Seperti apa kemampuan Athlon II X4 640 dan Athlon II X4 635AMD
Athlon II X4 memang murah. Walaupun kecepatan Athlon II X4 lebih cepat,
tetapi performa belum menandingi procesor Intel Quad Core seri 9000.
Keunikan
kemampuan Athlon II X4 dengan 4 core tersebut ternyata unggul dalam
konsumsi power. Lihat saja grafik dibawah ini. Ketika procesor Idle
jauh dibawah kebutuhan power dari procesor Intel - HW
